Cable

The connecting sleeve is designed for 1 kV three- and four-core cables with oil-paper insulation and steel strap armour, including cables with a reduced neutral cross-section.
Examples: AABU, ASBU, N(A)KBA.

Connecting sleeve design

Oil-resistant tubes shall be planted on the cores of the oil-paper insulated cable. Thermoshrink gloves shall protect against the ingress of moisture and the penetration of oil through the ends of the metallic sheath or cores of the cable. The conductors of the cores shall be connected with screw connectors included in the coupling set. Thick-walled Thermo shrink tubing with an inner surface coated with a layer of thermosetting adhesive shall insulate and seal the connectors. External thick-walled heat shrink tubing with a thermosetting adhesive layer shall provide external sealing and mechanical protection to the coupling and seal the metal sheath of the cable. The sleeve set also includes auxiliary materials for cable preparation.

Connecting sleeve for three-strand cables

Includes a non-solderable fitting for connecting earth and neutral to the aluminium sheath of the cable. It consists of stainless steel clamps and an earth conductor.

Connecting sleeve for four-core cables

Includes a non-solderable fitting for connecting the earth to the lead sheath of the cable. It consists of contact springs and an earthing conductor.

Connecting sleeve for the transition from a three-conductor to a four-conductor cable

Includes a non-solderable fitting for the connection of earth and neutral to the aluminium sheath. It consists of stainless steel clamps, a contact spring and earthing conductors.
