Connecting and branch couplings with jelly filler for 1 kV cables with plastic insulation

Jelly encapsulation technology

Cable

The sleeve is designed for 1, 2, 3, 3½, and 4 core unarmoured 1 kV cables with plastic insulation.
Examples: N(A)YY, N(A)YBY, ВВГ, АВВГ.

RayGel coupling and branch coupling

The cable cores shall be connected using the connectors included in the coupling set or by selecting connectors according to the maximum dimensions given in the tables. The cores shall then be separated and a coil separator shall be inserted horizontally between them. The conductor bonding area shall be placed in the middle of the open sleeve with the jelly filler. The joined strands shall be pressed firmly into the jelly filling. The divider shall be located at the bottom between the underlying veins. The two halves of the body shall be closed until the lock clicks into place. At the end of the installation, the sleeve shall be fitted with a cable strap to prevent accidental opening. In the event of the need for a branch, the cores of the branch cable shall be placed parallel to the cores of the main cable.

GelBox connector sleeve

The cable cores are connected by a block of insulation-piercing connectors included in the coupling kit. Thanks to the use of insulation piercing technology, the insulation of the conductor do not need to be removed. After the splicing of the cores, the splice block is placed on one side of the housing with the jelly filling in the center. The other half of the housing is then placed on top. A mechanical latch prevents accidental opening of the sleeve.

Connecting sleeve and GelWrap repair sheath

The Gelwrap sheath is simply wrapped around the area of the joint or the area of the outer sheath to be repaired. The lock rails are pressed into each other and self-lock. A cable strap shall be tightened on top to prevent accidental opening of the sleeve.
